Riding the waves into the future: the unconventional thinking tank (WG3+WG4+WG5 meeting)

The PHAROS (European COST Action) Workshop "Riding the waves into the future: the unconventional thinking tank" which will be held at Selva di Fasano, Brindisi (Italy), on March 23-27, 2020.

The workshop’s idea is to have 1 Scientific topic (with 2 speakers + 1 session leader each day). The day leader will organise/manage the open discussions and “play” with the participants, stimulating them to discuss and collaborate on the key open questions related to the daily scientific topic. During the last day all the leaders will summarise the ideas raised during single day discussions. The final aim of the workshop will be, working together on a small and cosy environment, to finalise some ideas and/or possible draft for scientific papers (on the style of workshops done at the ASPEN Center of Physics or the Lorentz Center).

The Scientific Topics will be the following:

- Astrophysics of GW detectors of the future: from space (LISA)
- Astrophysics of GW detectors of the future: ground-based
- Modeling of GW source progenitors
- Population models and rates
- Equation of state of ultra dense matter
- Multi-wavelength/multi-messenger observations of LIGO/Virgo sources
- Physics of gamma ray bursts
- Physics of  kilonovae

More information and details could be found on the website https://andymelandri.wixsite.com/tutt-workshop

This is an "by invitation-only" workshop, and it will be limited to 45-50 participants. At the moment there are (for sure) still 4 places available therefore we warmly encourage everyone interested in the above topics and who would like/plans to participate to contact us directly and let us know (ASAP!!!). The SOC  will finalise the participants list by Febraury 15.
